An Introduction To Our Kiln Dried Log Products

An Introduction To Our Kiln Dried Log Products

Here at Fitzpatricks we stock a wide variety of firewood products, this way we can make sure that whatever you are looking for, we have it. But this can also make it hard for people that aren’t fully up to date to know what they are best buying.

Which is why in this guide we are going through all of our kiln dried log products and giving you an overview of how they burn and what they perform best at. All of our bulk wood comes wrapped in a plastic liner if we are expecting or experiencing rain.

Bulk Firewood Products

We sell a lot of firewood in bulk, which can save a lot of hassle for those with the space to store it. Bulk firewood means better prices, not having to worry about lack of supply or return trips to our stores. Below are a lot of the different wood options that we sell in bulk.

Standard Bulk Bag - Ash & Beech

This is our most popular product, our ever reliable standard bulk bag of ash & beech wood. The logs in this builders bag come in a length of 8” and these bags hold 0.55m3 or loose wood up to the brim (But we always fill them past this). This bag is 85cm by 85cm and made from a durable, waterproof plastic. This size is the perfect size for most people to store away.

The 8” logs are perfect for most stoves and fires, when people think of logs they are thinking of the 8” ones. Ash & Beech are a high heat and long burning firewood, meaning that you are getting real value for money with this option. This product is ideal for small-medium sized houses or houses which only heat a few rooms.

Large Bulk Bag - Ash & Beech

Our large bulk bags are a new product for autumn 2023. They hold a whopping 1m3 of wood, which will easily last most people through the winter. Which people have not only noticed, but seem to love. The bag is 120cm by 91cm and made from a durable, waterproof plastic weave. Ash & Beech are a high heat and long burning firewood, so this bag will last a long time.

This bag is usually filled with 8” logs, which are the perfect size for most homes. This bag is larger than our standard bag and so those who burn more wood or who are able to store a bag of this size are more likely to buy it. It is ideal for those who have a medium to large house to heat, or people who need to heat multiple rooms in their home.

Giant Bulk Bag - Ash & Beech

Our giant bulk bags are the largest bulk bags you’ll find and you’ll have no shortage of wood with them. Measuring it at a massive 150cm by 92cm, they hold a mighty 1.3m3 of logs. These bags are made from a durable and waterproof woven plastic and contain Ash & Beech which is a high heat, long burning wood.

This bag is usually filled with 8” logs, which are the perfect size for most homes. This bag is larger than both our standard bag and our large bulk bags. The only downside is the large size of the bag, making this bag un-storable for a lot of people. It is ideal for those who have a large house to heat, or people who need to heat multiple rooms in their home.

1.5m3 Crate - Birch

These jumbo crates are a product that we have stocked for a long time and year after year they have been in high demand. These crates are 116cm by 122cm, holding an astounding 1.5m3 of birch logs. These crates come wrapped in a plastic cover when we are experiencing or expecting rain. They contain birch which is a high heat, easy to light wood. Although it is on the softer side of hardwood, so it won’t last as long as Ash or Beech.

This crate is filled with 10“ logs, which work great in large appliances. This crate represents a huge amount of wood and not everyone will be able to store it. But for those who can, this crate offers huge value for money. This crate is ideal for those who have the storage for it, or those who have multiple rooms to heat.

Handy Packs of Firewood Products

We also offer wood in handy packs, such as nets & sacks. These are ideal for people wanting to collect from any of our sites. These packs are the perfect size for car boots and for carrying around yourself. Alternatively they are also great for those who struggle to move around and deal with the larger bulk amounts of wood.

Large Hessian Sack - Ash & Beech

Our large hessian sacks offer great value for money, as they hold the most wood of our handy packs and at the best value. They weigh at least 21kg, but the weight of the bags can change because of the density and moisture content of the wood. They hold just shy of 3 of our 30L nets of wood. The hessian sack itself is a strong plastic weave that also keeps the logs dry. They contain ash & beech logs which burn with a high heat output and for a long time.

These hessian sacks are usually filled with 8” logs, which are the perfect size for most stoves and fireplaces. While these sacks offer great value for money in comparison to the other handy packs, they are worse value than buying in bulk. Our large hessian sacks are ideal for those wanting to come and collect a few bags at a time. Or for those who

Nets 30L - Birch

These nets offer an easy to handle and store net of birch logs. They are lighter than our sacks and better for people who might need to carry their wood further or are not as comfortable carrying our heavier packs. These nets carry 30L of birch logs, birch is easy to light and burns with a high heat. The nets are open air and thus do not protect the logs from any moisture.

These nets are usually filled with 10” birch logs and they are ideal for heating rooms quickly. While these nets are not as good value as our hessian sacks, they do offer a different type of wood and burn quality. Our nets are ideal for those wanting a quick and easy high heat fire. And for those who want something easier to handle and carry.

Pizza Oven Logs 10kg - Ash & Beech

These pizza oven logs are unique and come in their own box, weighing a total 10kg. The logs inside this box have been hand chosen to be perfect for pizza ovens. Meaning they are slim enough to burn well in most pizza ovens. Ash and beech will last longer than your usual pizza logs, while they are also thin enough to not be a hassle to light.

These boxes are usually filled with logs that are 8” in length, although they are a lot thinner than our usual logs. With ash & beech offering a longer burn time then the usual hardwood, while still pumping out a lot of heat. Our Boxes of pizza oven logs are perfect for.. You guessed it, pizza ovens, but not just that; they are also great for small stoves and fireplaces.
