Kiln-dried silver birch logs offer a great heat output and a nice lively flame in the fire. Unbeknownst to some, silver birch is actually the most widely used firewood in the UK.

As part of the hardwood log family, birch firewood offers a good burn duration and heat output. Although this type of log doesn't burn for as long as ash & oak firewood, birch lights very easily and gets up to temperature quicker.

Our logs are FSC Certified, and sourced responsibly from a reputable producer, offering consistently good quality, along with the peace of mind that your fuel is being sourced in the right way.

These crates are hand-stacked, and each log is cut to a length of 25cm. The crates contain 1.5m3 of 100% birch firewood. Having gone through a kiln drying process for 7 days, our logs contain less than 20% moisture for the perfect burn.

The external dimensions of this crate are: 1.22m x 1.06m x 1.16m

All of our firewood is certified with the Ready to Burn scheme, our certificate number is: WS480/00001. This gives you peace of mind that all of our firewood is properly kiln dried, and has a moisture content of 20% or less.

Description

Kiln dried silver birch firewood is one of the most attractive logs to burn, mainly down to its silver and flaky bark. This type of firewood gives off a bright and lively flame, and on an open fire, a nice smelling fragrance. Birch logs are a great option for those looking for a quick and easy heat source, they are also fantastic when used on pizza ovens.

Along with having an attractive burn, this type of firewood is very easy to work with. It is considered to be a hardwood log, but it is not as dense as the likes of ash and oak firewood. This means that birch logs light easier and get up to temperature quicker. This type of firewood is the perfect option for you if you mainly burn for a couple of hours on evenings or weekends. That being said, if you want a longer burning fire, mixing one of our smokeless fuels with this product will prolong your heat output right through into the night.

Our logs go through a drying process in a kiln for 7 days, they are then split and cut to a length of 25cm and have a moisture content of less than 20% for the perfect burn. Silver birch is one of the fastest growing hardwoods there is. Along with being kiln dried, making them a better fuel for the environment, all our logs are FSC Certified. The Forestry Stewardship Commission (FSC) works to ensure the responsible sourcing of firewood’s from the world’s forests.

How to use:

As always, before lighting a new fire, be sure that your stove has been cleaned from last use. Having too must ash residue in the stove restricts airflow, and makes it harder for you to light the fire.

To start, place a handful of kindling in the stove and add a couple of firelighters. Light the firelighters with a long match or lighter. From here, add another handful of kindling on top of the firelighters.

Once your kindling is burning with a flame, add 2 – 3 logs to the fire. Once the logs have caught fire, reduce the amount of airflow directed into the fire, this will make the logs burn for longer.

Add more logs as necessary.
