What is a briquette?

If you’re seeking an alternative fuel source that is practical, affordable, and kind to the environment, then a wood burner briquette is the ideal candidate.

They are made from sawdust or other shredded wood – usually off cuts or waste from the timber industry that would otherwise have been sent to landfill – that is pressed under high pressure by machines which pop them out as shaped briquettes. 

Their attraction is that they contain no additives or chemicals, and can be used in household fireplaces or other appliances which use solid fuel.

Why should I buy recycled wood briquettes?

The moisture content of most briquettes is below 10 per cent, meaning they burn more efficiently and release energy faster than logs. Briquettes are cleaner and easier to store, too, taking up around half the space of a conventional log pile.

When they burn, the ash they leave behind retains heat, making them a long-lasting and cost-effective option when compared with traditional firewood.
